AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for the software, billed per running instance. The dimensions map to hundreds of EC2 instance types, so your rate depends on the instance size and family you choose. General-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and accelerated families are all available. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates, and smaller instances carry lower ones. The database automatically tunes itself to the instance's RAM and CPU, so you can pick a size to match your workload. You can resize at any time, which changes your hourly rate accordingly.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate cover, and what does the instance size actually get me?
The hourly rate covers the FlowOps software licence for the running EC2 instance. Your chosen instance type sets the RAM and CPU available. PostgreSQL auto-tunes on first boot using that RAM and CPU, so a larger instance gives more memory and processing for the database.
Am I charged the software rate when the instance is stopped or paused?
The software rate meters running instance-hours. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. Attached EBS storage, including the separate data volume mounted at /pgdata, may still incur AWS storage fees while the instance is stopped. Restarting resumes hourly software billing.
If I resize to a bigger instance, does my rate change automatically?
Yes. Each instance type has its own hourly software rate. When you resize, billing switches to the new type's rate for the hours it runs. You control the change by selecting the instance size. PostgreSQL re-tunes to the new RAM and CPU on the next reboot.
