Overview
Many media companies store assets across multiple Amazon S3 buckets and still search by file name alone. Guidance for a Media Lake on AWS provides a centralized UI and API to catalog, search, and process that content without moving masters out of S3. Flomenco Professional Services delivers project-based assistance to deploy that Guidance into your AWS account and bring your first production connectors and pipelines live.
As an AWS Partner Network member, Flomenco's team includes former AWS Principal Solutions Architects for Media and Entertainment. Engagements typically cover:
- Choose and execute a deployment path: AWS CloudFormation template that creates CodePipeline/CodeBuild for CDK, local CDK deploy, or integration into your existing CI/CD for CDK apps
- Bootstrap the administrator Cognito user and confirm Region, account, and networking prerequisites
- Decide search mode before import: traditional metadata search, or semantic search with TwelveLabs and OpenSearch Service
- Create storage connectors in the same account and Region as the media lake so new and existing objects are indexed through EventBridge, SQS, and ingest Lambdas
- Import or design pipelines on the drag-and-drop canvas (Step Functions under the hood), including default video, audio, and image pipelines for proxies, thumbnails, and technical metadata
- Configure media lake integrations with credentials stored in AWS Secrets Manager so API keys stay out of pipeline definitions
- Enable teams on asset detail, proxy playback, and operational runbooks for a day-one support handoff
Your files stay in your existing Amazon S3 layout. The media lake adds discovery, automated workflows, and professional proxy viewing on top. Engagements follow a Discover-through-cutover methodology, typically completed in eight to twelve weeks.
This listing covers Media Lake on AWS deployment services only. If you later want an AI agentic application layer alongside the lake, Flo by Flomenco is available as a separate AWS Marketplace product.
Highlights
- Customer-account deploy: CloudFormation bootstrap and CDK deployment path into your chosen AWS account and Region, with Cognito admin invite and search mode configured before first import.
- Storage connectors and default pipelines: Link existing Amazon S3 buckets, enable EventBridge ingest, and activate default Video, Audio, and Image pipelines for proxies, thumbnails, and technical metadata extraction.
- Optional semantic search and secure integrations: Configure TwelveLabs embeddings with OpenSearch Service for natural-language discovery, with all API keys stored in AWS Secrets Manager to keep credentials out of pipeline definitions.
