Unleash live's enterprise computer vision helps wind farm operators reduce inspection costs, detect blade and component faults before failure occurs, and eliminate the operational risk of manual inspection workflows.
Orb is the product offered by Unleash live that governs the full wind turbine inspection program, from autonomous drone mission planning and structured media capture through to AI-powered fault detection, condition assessment, and direct integration with asset management and maintenance systems. Operators have reduced inspection costs by up to 80% per year across a 250 MW wind farm.
Manual wind turbine inspection is operationally expensive, inconsistent, and difficult to scale. Rope-access and helicopter-based inspection programs are labour-intensive, weather-dependent, and expose personnel to significant safety risk while producing data that is manually reviewed, inconsistently recorded, and slow to translate into maintenance action.
Orb replaces manual inspection workflows with a governed, repeatable, and auditable inspection program from autonomous drone mission planning through to AI-powered fault detection, structured condition assessment, and automated integration with existing asset management and maintenance systems.
Governed inspection programs at wind portfolio scale
Orb's mission planning and autonomous flight capabilities are configured to the specific requirements of wind turbine inspection accounting for blade geometry, turbine height, rotor orientation, image overlap requirements, resolution targets, and environmental constraints including restricted airspace. Inspection profiles are standardized by asset type and blade model, ensuring repeatable data quality across turbines, sites, and inspection cycles year-on-year.
Fleet-level orchestration supports multi-site programs across distributed wind portfolios and geographically dispersed drone teams without requiring manual coordination at each site.
Automated fault detection across component and fault classes
Cortex, Unleash live's computer vision intelligence engine, automatically analyses captured imagery to detect faults and condition changes across wind turbine component and fault classes identifying leading edge erosion, surface cracking, delamination, lightning strike damage, and soiling, among others. Detection results are structured and aligned to maintenance workflows, giving asset management and operations teams the specific, actionable intelligence required to prioritize repair and maintenance scheduling without manual image review.
Operators have reduced overall inspection costs by up to 80% per year across a 250 MW wind farm, replacing manual inspection methods with automated, governed detection programs that scale across the full wind portfolio.
From fault detection to maintenance action without manual data transfer
Orb integrates via APIs with asset management, work scheduling, and reporting platforms including SAP, Maximo, and PowerBI, routing fault detections, condition assessments, and inspection records directly into existing maintenance workflows. Inspection findings trigger work orders and asset register updates without manual data entry, reducing the time from detection to maintenance action and eliminating duplicate reporting.
A structured audit trail for inspection compliance
Every Orb inspection program produces a complete, traceable inspection record, from mission configuration through capture to detection output and maintenance action. Standardized capture profiles, version-controlled model outputs, and structured condition reports give asset management and compliance functions the documentation required to demonstrate inspection governance across the full wind portfolio.
Highlights
Reduce inspection costs and keep personnel away from hazardous assets. Operators have reduced wind turbine inspection costs by up to 80% per year across a 250 MW wind farm using Orb's automated drone inspection programs. By replacing rope-access and helicopter-based inspection with autonomous, repeatable drone capture, Orb eliminates the safety risk and labour cost of manual access to turbine blades and nacelles at height
Automated fault detection across component and fault classes. Orb's computer vision models automatically detect faults and condition changes across wind turbine blade and structural components identifying erosion, cracking, delamination, lightning damage, and soiling. Detection results are structured and aligned to maintenance workflows, replacing manual image review with governed, repeatable fault analysis that scales across the full wind portfolio
Insight information routed directly into your maintenance systems. Orb integrates via APIs with SAP, Maximo, and PowerBI, routing inspection findings, fault detections, and condition assessments directly into existing asset management and maintenance workflows. Inspection outcomes trigger work orders and asset register updates without manual data transfer, reducing the time from fault detection to maintenance scheduling across the wind portfolio
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing offers four pricing options you can combine to fit your inspection program. You buy Processing Credits upfront and draw them down over 12 months to cover analysis usage. The Enterprise License is a subscription with defined service levels; fair-use rules and caps on users, device connections, and usage apply through an enterprise contract. The Autofly App License is an annual fee per installed app that connects a private, secure drone feed. The AI App License is a separate annual fee for each Unleash live AI App. Each dimension is billed independently, so cost scales with the quantity you deploy.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do Processing Credits pay for, and what happens if I use them all before 12 months?
Processing Credits fund analysis usage, where computer vision reads captures to detect faults and grade severity. You buy them upfront and draw them down as you process inspection data. Once depleted within the 12-month window, you buy more Credits to continue processing. Unused Credits expire at the end of the term.
What counts as one Autofly App License versus one AI App License?
An Autofly App License is billed per installed Autofly app, which flies each drone mission to a set standard and links a private, secure drone feed. An AI App License is billed per individual Unleash live AI App, each a computer vision model tuned for a specific detection use case. You license each separately.
How do the four pricing dimensions combine on my bill?
Each dimension bills independently and adds together. The Enterprise License covers subscription service levels and caps on users, devices, and usage. Autofly and AI App Licenses are annual per-app fees. Processing Credits meter analysis usage. Running many AI Apps or Autofly apps raises those annual fees, while heavy analysis draws down Credits faster.
