You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you choose to run RHEL 8.8 with Compliance Agent. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size within a family, such as general-purpose (m-series), compute-optimized (c-series), memory-optimized (r-series and x-series), storage (d-series, i-series), and accelerated computing (g-series, p-series). Larger instances in a family carry higher hourly rates because they provide more CPU, memory, or specialized hardware. Pricing scales with the size and capability of the instance you select. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs.

You pay a software fee for each hour a chosen EC2 instance runs RHEL 8.8 with Compliance Agent. The rate matches the specific instance type you launch. AWS charges the underlying compute separately. Billing counts each running instance-hour, so the same software fee repeats for every instance you keep active.
The hourly software fee applies only while an instance runs. A stopped instance stops accruing the software charge. Underlying AWS storage for the volume may still cost you, but the software meter tracks running time only. Restarting the instance resumes the hourly software charge at that instance type's rate.
Each instance type maps to its own hourly rate. Moving to a size with more CPU, memory, or specialized hardware raises the hourly software fee for the hours it runs. You are not locked to one type; you can run different instance types and each bills at its own rate.

Ssh to the instance public IP and login as 'redhat' user using the key specified at launch time. Use 'sudo su -' in order to get a root prompt.
