You pay by the hour for this Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 image bundled with the GigaOps Compliance Agent. Pricing is not tiered. Instead, each rate maps to a specific Amazon EC2 instance type. The many options cover instance families for general purpose, compute, memory, storage, GPU, and high-performance workloads, from nano sizes up to metal builds. Your hourly software charge scales with the instance size you launch. Larger instances carry higher rates. You are billed only for hours the instance runs, alongside the separate AWS infrastructure cost for that instance.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly rate cover, and what counts as a billable hour?
Each rate maps to one running Amazon EC2 instance of the matching type. It covers the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 image with the GigaOps Compliance Agent. You are billed for each hour, or partial hour, that instance stays in a running state.
Am I charged the software rate when my instance is stopped or paused?
The software charge meters running time only. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. You may still owe separate AWS charges for attached storage while the instance is off. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
How does my bill change if I move to a bigger instance type?
Software pricing is set per instance type, not tiered by usage volume. When you launch a larger instance, the hourly software rate for that type applies for every running hour. The separate AWS infrastructure charge for the larger instance also increases.
