Pivot is a healthcare interoperability and data quality solution that combines format transformation, terminology normalization, and data quality validation into a single application.
Pivot combines syntactic (format) transformation, semantic (content) normalization, and data quality uplift into a single, integrated solution. Pivots message transformation process ingests patient messages in various formats, normalizes and validates the data in those messages, and then produces a standard, predictable output that is ready for use. Pivot can also combine and de-duplicate a collection of patient messages as part of this flow. Pivot is highly configurable by the user and can provide a substantial reduction in the time and resources required to successfully implement effective message exchange. Powered by Symedical, Clinical Architectures flagship terminology and data quality management platform, Pivot combines the automated normalization, clinical NLP, and clinical reasoning capabilities of Symedical with message consolidation and data validation to dramatically reduce the barriers and effort required to make high-quality patient information exchange a reality. Pivot understands a multitude of healthcare message formats, including FHIR, C-CDA, HL7v2.x,X12, OMOP, HL7 v2.5.1 for ELR, CSV, and HealthShare SDA along with other vendor-specific or custom formats. After processing messages from those formats into a standard data structure, Pivot applies Symedicals most powerful capabilities to semantically and syntactically transform patient data and deliver an outbound message that is normalized, validated and ready for use. In addition, Pivot can optionally consolidate and summarize messages to produce cohesive, streamlined longitudinal patient data. This listing offers a single pricing dimension, billed by Hosts, under a contract term. You pay based on the number of hosts you deploy for Pivot for HealthLake. Pricing scales with host count, so adding hosts increases your total commitment. There are no separate tiers, instance sizes, or usage add-ons to choose between. This dimension covers the managed interoperability and data quality solution, which handles healthcare message format transformation, terminology normalization, and data validation within a single application.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one host for billing purposes?
A host is one deployment instance of Pivot for HealthLake running the interoperability and data quality application. You are billed per host you deploy. Your total commitment depends on how many hosts you run. Adding more hosts to handle greater message volume increases your host count and total cost.
What healthcare message formats does a Pivot host process under this pricing?
Each host can process standard and custom healthcare message formats, including FHIR, CDA/C-CDA, HL7v2.x, and other vendor-specific formats. The host transforms these into a standard structure, then applies terminology normalization and data validation. It can also consolidate and de-duplicate multiple messages into streamlined longitudinal patient data.
How does my cost change if I need to process more data feeds?
Cost scales with host count, not with the number of data feeds or message formats. A single host handles multiple formats and rapid onboarding of new data sources. You add hosts only when you need more processing capacity, which raises your total contract commitment accordingly.
