You pay by the hour for a hardened, PCI-compliant CentOS 9 image running on AWS ARM-based (Graviton) instances. Pricing is not tiered by feature. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so your hourly rate follows the size and family of compute you choose. Smaller instances like t4g.nano bill at lower hourly rates, while large metal instances like r8gd.metal-48xl bill higher. Compute-optimized (c-family), general-purpose (m-family), memory-optimized (r/x-family), storage-optimized (i-family), and HPC (hpc7g) families are all available. You match the instance to your workload and scale by adding hours or instances.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running EC2 ARM-based instance of the type you select. You get a hardened, PCI-compliant CentOS 9 image with over 100 security controls and included PCI documentation. Vendor support comes with every instance. You pay for each hour the instance runs.
The software charge meters running time per hour. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate AWS charges, not the software licence.
You scale by adding more instances or by choosing a larger instance type. Your hourly rate follows the instance family and size you pick. Moving to a larger type raises the rate for that instance. Adding instances bills each one separately on the same invoice.

How to connect to the VM:
To connect to your instance, the use of SSH via port 22 is necessary. The default username for establishing this connection is ec2-user. Hardening Notice and Assistance
This image comes pre-configured with PCI compliance already integrated. However, it's worth noting that the use of a hardened system could call for certain adaptations. The advanced security measures might restrict some functionalities or require additional actions for certain operations due to its hardened nature. Should any issues arise, we recommend reaching out to the software provider for further assistance.

-To ensure optimal performance, it's advised that you perform updates routinely alongside adopting newly released versions from Citadel.
