Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You choose from three contract plans: Small, Medium, and Large. All three charge the same rate per vCPU per hour. The difference is the minimum annual commitment, which steps up from Small to Medium to Large. Each plan bills on a fixed 12-month term. Your compute usage is metered by vCPU-hour against that commitment. Pick the plan whose minimum commitment fits your expected data streaming volume to Snowflake. Higher-commitment plans support larger sustained workloads.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one vCPU-hour represent for billing on these plans?
Your compute usage is metered by the number of virtual CPUs your pipelines run, multiplied by the hours they run. Each active vCPU accrues charges hourly at the same rate across all three plans. The running compute powers your real-time data streaming into Snowflake.
What happens if my vCPU-hour usage exceeds my minimum annual commitment?
The minimum annual commitment sets the floor you pay for each 12-month term. Usage metered by vCPU-hour draws down against that commitment. If you consume more than the committed amount, extra vCPU-hours bill at the same per-vCPU-hour rate. Consumption scales up and down as your workload changes.
How do the Small, Medium, and Large plans differ if the hourly rate is identical?
All three plans charge the same rate per vCPU-hour. The only difference is the minimum annual commitment, which rises from Small to Medium to Large. Choose the plan whose minimum matches your expected sustained streaming volume. Higher-commitment plans suit larger continuous workloads.
