Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the software running on an Amazon EC2 instance you choose. Each pricing dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so your rate depends on the instance you select. Options span general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and accelerated (GPU and machine learning) families. Within each family, sizes range from small to very large, so cost scales with the compute, memory, and storage capacity of the instance. You are billed only for the hours you run. Pick the instance that matches your Superset workload size and performance needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each dimension maps to one running Amazon EC2 instance of that specific type. You pay the listed rate for every hour that one instance runs, covering the Superset software licence plus that instance's compute, memory, and storage capacity. Adding more instances multiplies the charge accordingly.
The hourly software charge applies only while the instance runs. Stopping the instance halts the software charge. Underlying AWS storage or other resources tied to a stopped instance may still bill separately through AWS. The Superset licence meters running hours only.
Match the instance family to your workload type. General-purpose and compute-optimized families suit typical querying and dashboards. Memory-optimized families help large in-memory queries. Storage-optimized families favour heavy local data. Accelerated GPU and machine learning families fit specialized processing. An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. superset contains no cryptographically stored data and does not perform any encryption at rest.
Local X509 PKI may be utilised to manage network-based TLS. All certificates and keys are stored locally in /etc/pki and it is completely at your discretion to regenerate any of these at any time; the product will transparently operate on any consistent set of configured keys.
superset ships with openssl, step-cli and other popular tools to facilitate certificate regeneration.

SSH Connectivity
The SSH user for your instance is ec2-user. You can connect by using the private key of the key pair you launched the instance with:
