There are no upfront commitments or fixed terms. The hourly charge bundles the Ubuntu 22.04 image together with support from Hossted for your open-source applications running on the instance.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance running for one hour. The instance families range from t2 and t3 burstable types to m3 and m4 general-purpose types. You are billed for each hour that instance runs, matched to the type you selected at launch.
The hourly software charge meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue this charge. Underlying AWS storage fees may still apply while the instance is stopped, but the Ubuntu image and Hossted support charge follows active running hours.
