This listing is free, so the software itself carries no license charge. Pricing is organized entirely by the AWS EC2 instance type you choose to run it on, billed per hour. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size and family, ranging from small general-purpose types to large compute, memory, storage, GPU, and bare-metal options. Your hourly cost scales with the size and capability of the instance you select, not with any per-device or subscription fee. You pay only for the AWS infrastructure hours you use across whichever instance types you deploy.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit map to for this product?
Each hourly unit maps to one running AWS EC2 instance of the type named in the dimension. You pay for each hour that instance runs. The software itself is free, so the hourly charge reflects the instance size and family you deploy, counted per instance-hour.
Am I charged when an instance running this software is stopped or paused?
The software carries no license charge, so it adds nothing to your bill. Hourly charges reflect running AWS EC2 instance-hours only. A stopped instance does not accrue running-time charges, though attached AWS storage may still incur standard AWS fees separate from this listing.
What do I get in the software itself since it is listed as free?
You get Wind River's Debian-based enterprise Linux built for edge and cloud deployments. It includes a hardened kernel, continuous CVE monitoring, security profiles, and long-term support. The listing adds no license fee; your only cost is the AWS EC2 instance-hours you choose to run.
