Dimensions summary
You choose one plan based on the volume of file conversions you need each month. Plans scale from 1,000 conversions on the Developer plan up to 100,000 on the Enterprise plan. As you move up, the monthly conversion allowance, maximum file size, and number of parallel conversions all increase. Support access also broadens across tiers, from self-guided onboarding to email, live chat, and video call. Higher plans add signed NDA and DPA terms. The Enterprise plan adds premium support and custom features. Each plan is billed as a contract on the listed units.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One conversion is a single file processed through the API into a new format. Each plan includes a set number of conversions per month, such as 1,000 on the Developer plan or 50,000 on the Business plan. The service supports over 300 file formats, including documents, images, and archives.
Each plan includes a fixed monthly conversion allowance. Once you reach that limit, additional conversions are billed at an overage rate per conversion. To handle steadily higher volume, you can move up to a plan with a larger monthly allowance instead.
Each plan sets a concurrent conversion limit, meaning how many files process in parallel. The Developer plan allows 1, Startup allows 2, and Growth allows 3. The Business plan allows unlimited concurrent conversions. Maximum file size per conversion also rises with each plan, from 200 MB to 1 GB.

What do you like best about the product?
We use ConvertAPI to automatically generate PDF files from our Excel templates in our back office. The integration was simple and, above all, the output is reliable: the generated documents adhere well to our templates without needing manual adjustments. The service does exactly what we expect from it and saves us valuable time on a daily basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not encountered any particular problems with the service: the conversions are fast and reliable. The main area for improvement concerns the pricing. In my opinion, there is a lack of an intermediate offer between the free plan and the first paid plan, with a lower quota and a price more suited to modest usage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ConvertAPI allows us to easily convert automatically generated Excel files in our back-office into PDFs from numerous dynamic variables. This way, we obtain clean, reliable, and accurate documents that match our templates, without manual intervention. This significantly simplifies our document generation process and saves us time.

ConvertAPI is very easy to use and set up, and they have a great customer support. The pricing model is straightforward and easy to understand.

At this time, I haven't found any negatives.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ConvertAPI is helping move and transfer documents from one system to another. There is a business requirement to consolidate expense receipts into thumbnails for the customer to review on their invoice, and ConvertAPI is critical in not just passing the information between systems but also in reformatting it.

What do you like best about the product?
I created a test N8N flow and integrated Convert API into the process. Everything functioned perfectly. Now, I'm just waiting for clients to purchase the services so I can keep using it.
What do you dislike about the product?
One downside is that there is no option to pause or temporarily put the account on hold when the service isn't needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using it to create a book on demand workflow. I will be using this service with some of my clients.
