Haivision SRT Gateway on AWS uses the Amazon cloud infrastructure and the public Internet to securely transport high quality video at low latency to multiple live broadcast production destinations.
The Haivision SRT Gateway enables low latency live video streaming and conversion between protocols including RTP, RTP-FEC, RTMP, RTSP, HLS, TS over UDP, and the open-source SRT protocol for bridging between networks and distributing streams across multiple destinations. Available on AWS, the Haivision SRT Gateway helps broadcasters with live production contribution, backhaul, remote monitoring, bi-directional live interviews, and video distribution.
The Haivision SRT Gateway is also available as a Bring Your Own License (BYOL) offer.
Highlights
Stream high quality, extreme low latency video to multiple destinations over the Internet and through the cloud.
Reduce bandwidth requirements at the source location by using the cloud to replicate video streams for distribution to remote facilities.
Optimize streaming performance with packet loss recovery, AES encryption, real time end-to-end network statistics, options to easily manage firewall traversal and more.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay by the hour based on the AWS EC2 instance size you run. Pricing scales with compute capacity across two instance families. The t3 and t3a options cover general-purpose sizes from medium through 2xlarge, suited to lighter routing needs. The c5 options cover compute-optimized sizes from large up to 24xlarge, suited to higher-throughput workloads. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates. This is usage-based billing with no upfront commitment, so you pay only for the hours each instance runs. You choose the size that matches your video routing demand.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does each hourly instance charge cover, and what is the software actually doing?
You pay for the SRT Gateway software running on the chosen EC2 instance size, billed per instance-hour. The software routes live video, converts protocols, and duplicates streams across IP networks. Each running instance meters its own hours. AWS charges the underlying compute separately from this software fee.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges accrue only while an instance runs. When you stop an instance, the hourly software fee stops. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage costs, but the SRT Gateway license meters running time only. You pay for the hours each instance is active.
How do I choose between the t3, t3a, and c5 instance options?
The t3 and t3a options are general-purpose sizes, suited to lighter routing loads. The c5 options are compute-optimized, suited to higher-throughput video workloads. You run one instance size at a time and pay its hourly rate. Larger sizes handle more concurrent streams but cost more per hour.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
