    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. Additional details

    Usage instructions

    Launch the AMI

Select your preferred instance type (example. t2.micro or higher). When launching this AMI, select or create an EC2 key pair. You will use this key pair to SSH into the instance.

Use the preconfigured security group rule allowing SSH (TCP/22) from 0.0.0.0/0 for initial access. After the instance is running, copy its Public IPv4 address from the EC2 console. Connect via SSH

Use your AWS key pair to connect:

    ssh -i /path/to/your-key.pem ec2-user@<Public-IP-or-DNS>

Replace /path/to/your-key.pem with the private key file you selected when launching.

Replace <Public-IP> with your instances public IP address. Default user: ec2-user

    Update Security Group (Strongly Recommended)

After successful login, modify the security group in the AWS console to restrict SSH access:

Change source from 0.0.0.0/0 - to your IP address or corporate network range (e.g., 203.0.113.25/32).

    This prevents unauthorized login attempts.

    Additional Notes

Fail2ban is preinstalled and will automatically ban repeated failed SSH attempts.

Automatic updates are enabled to keep the system patched.

If you install web applications, open ports 80 (HTTP) or 443 (HTTPS) as required.
