The school database represents more than 124,000 entities serving students’ educational needs in grades PK-12 across the US. Firmographic information allows segmentation and analysis of these data.
The MCH school database includes institutional and firmographic data on US education PK12 institutions for students in grades pre-kindergarten through twelfth. This dataset includes childcare centers that are legal entities of school districts, in additon to all K12 schools and districts. There are three primary designations of schools: Private, Public and Catholic. "Private" schools are those whose primary income is not from public sources; they rely on tuition and donations for their operation. "Public" schools are defined as schools that rely on public tax-based funding. "Catholic" schools are private schools operated by the Catholic church umbrella. Catholic Schools are not duplicated in the Private school group.
The file includes PK12 schools as defined by the State Education Agency (SEA) and National Center of Education Statistics (NCES) standards and most represent "traditional" facilities in which regular classes are not held in the summer months.
Updating the PK12 data at MCH is an ongoing year-round effort and includes adding new, removing old and updating existing records.
Schools and the governing entity they report to (i.e., District, Diocese) are linked through parent-child relationships.

This listing uses a single contract-based pricing dimension: Product Access (Units). You buy units that grant access to the K-12 school directory data. There are no separate tiers or instance sizes to compare. Pricing scales with the number of units you purchase under your contract. The data covers U.S. schools, districts, administrators, and educators, with segmentation by role, grade level, district size, and geography. To set the unit quantity that fits your needs, you work with the vendor through the contract terms.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one unit of Product Access actually grant me?
A unit maps to access to the K-12 school directory data under your contract. This includes contact records for U.S. schools, districts, administrators, and educators. You use the access to build and export targeted lists filtered by role, grade level, district size, and geography.
How does my cost change as I need to reach more schools or roles?
Cost scales with the number of units you purchase under your contract. Adding more units expands your access to the directory. You set the quantity with the vendor based on the audience you want to reach, such as administrators, teachers, or districts.
What data is included in the access, and is it kept current?
Access covers U.S. schools, districts, administrators, and classroom educators, with demographic and firmographic details. The vendor refreshes records continuously through the school year using a multi-source compilation process. Certain educator records are tracked through school website rostering and updated on a roughly 30-day cycle.
