Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for this hardened CentOS 10 image, billed per running instance. Each pricing line matches a specific AWS EC2 instance type, so your rate depends only on the instance you launch. Options span general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, GPU, and high-memory families across many sizes. Larger instances with more CPU, memory, or accelerators carry higher hourly rates than smaller ones. The software charge is the same operating system regardless of instance; you choose the instance to fit your workload. AWS infrastructure charges apply separately from this software fee.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You get the hardened CentOS 10 image running on the AWS EC2 instance type named in that pricing line. The rate covers the operating system license, configured with industry hardening frameworks like STIG and NIST. The instance size sets the CPU, memory, and accelerators available to your workload.
The software fee meters running instance-hours. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. Charges resume when you start the instance again. Note that AWS may still bill underlying infrastructure costs, such as storage, separately from this software fee.
Two charges apply for each running instance-hour and appear together on your invoice. One is this software fee, which stays the same operating system regardless of instance type. The other is the AWS infrastructure charge for the instance itself. Larger instances raise both charges.

Quick Start
Launch your CentOS 10 instance and connect using SSH on port 22. The default username is ec2-user.
Example: ssh -i /path/to/your-key.pem ec2-user@<public-ip-address>

If you connect over SSH, configure your security group to allow access only from your trusted IP address.
This image has been fully hardened with HIPAA-aligned controls applied and validated before release. No additional hardening steps are required after launch.
