monolayer Next-Generation Developer Platform
monolayer is a next-generation developer platform that connects application code with the AWS infrastructure it needs automatically. Developers can focus on building their application while monolayer provisions, configures, and deploys the required cloud services behind the scenes. monolayer runs inside the customer's own AWS account, so teams keep control of their infrastructure, data, compliance posture, and cloud flexibility.
Key Capabilities
With monolayer, teams can define infrastructure directly from application code, including background jobs, cron tasks, databases, real-time WebSocket channels, and object storage, without maintaining separate Terraform, YAML, or complex CI/CD pipelines. monolayer supports preview environments for every branch, with live databases and migrations applied automatically, plus one-step production deployment for moving from development to live software faster.
Who Is This For?
monolayer is built for development teams that want to move fast without sacrificing control. Whether you are a startup shipping your first product or an established team eliminating infrastructure toil, monolayer optimizes the software development lifecycle, from coding and testing to deployment and production operations. Unlike traditional platform-as-a-service offerings, monolayer deploys directly into the customer's AWS account, helping teams retain ownership of their infrastructure and data.
Why monolayer on AWS?
- No PaaS Lock-in: Unlike traditional platform-as-a-service offerings, monolayer deploys directly to your AWS account. You retain full ownership of your infrastructure and data.
- Full Lifecycle Optimization: Designed for every stage of development - local coding, automated testing, branch previews, and production operations.
- Developer Experience First: Eliminate context switching between application code and infrastructure tooling. Everything is defined alongside your application logic.
How It Works
- Install monolayer in your AWS account.
- Connect your GitHub repository via the monolayer GitHub App.
- Define your infrastructure needs directly in your application code.
- Push code and let monolayer handle provisioning, migrations, and deployment automatically.
monolayer supports multiple frameworks and provides a CLI for local development workflows. Platform capabilities include background jobs, cron scheduling, database management, real-time WebSocket channels, and object storage - all managed through your codebase.
Get Started
Install monolayer in your AWS account and deploy your first application in minutes. No infrastructure expertise required.
Highlights
- Build and Ship full-stack applications directly into your own AWS account while keeping control of your infrastructure, data, compliance posture, and cloud flexibility.
- Spin up complete preview environments for every Git branch, with live databases and migrations applied automatically. Reduce manual environment setup and shorten the feedback loop from code change to deployable preview.
- Retain full control over your infrastructure, data, and compliance posture. Unlike traditional PaaS solutions, monolayer runs inside your own AWS account, reducing vendor lock-in while delivering the developer experience of a managed platform.
