    Overview

    Open image

This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for cloudimg support services.

DomainMOD is a widely used open source application for tracking domains and internet assets. It gives you one authoritative place to record every domain you own along with its registrar, expiry date, renewal fee, owner, category and stakeholder, so renewals stop being a surprise and nobody has to maintain a spreadsheet that is out of date the moment it is saved. This image delivers DomainMOD fully installed, configured, and security hardened so you have a working asset manager within minutes of launch, eliminating hours of manual dependency installation, web server configuration, database setup, and hardening that a self managed deployment requires. The current release in this listing is DomainMOD 4.23.

With a standard DomainMOD deployment you must install PHP and its extensions, configure a web server, provision a database, hand edit a configuration file, walk through a browser install wizard, remember to delete the installer afterwards, and then add the access restrictions the project itself recommends. This image completes all of that for you, so your team can focus on tracking assets rather than on infrastructure. Compared to free community images, this listing includes 24/7 expert support from cloudimg covering deployment guidance, registrar API setup, upgrades, and database administration.

Beyond domains, DomainMOD tracks SSL and TLS certificates, hosting accounts, IP addresses and DNS providers, and its domain queue can pull live data directly from registrar APIs including Cloudflare, Porkbun, NameBright and Internet.bs. It sends expiration email alerts, reports renewal costs across multiple currencies with automatic conversion rate updates, and ships a task scheduler that keeps all of it current. In this image that scheduler runs as a managed system timer every ten minutes rather than as a publicly reachable web endpoint.

Application stack: DomainMOD served by PHP 8.3 with OPcache and every required extension, the Apache web server with a TLS ready configuration, and a MariaDB database engine bound to the loopback interface only. Your entire asset inventory lives on a dedicated data volume kept separate from the operating system disk.

No administrator password ships inside this image. On the first boot of your instance a fresh database password and a fresh administrator password are generated for that instance alone and written to a root only file, and you are prompted to choose your own password when you first sign in. The installation wizard is removed and blocked rather than left sitting in the web root. Browse to the instance address and sign in. DomainMOD accepts requests on whatever hostname or IP address you reach it on.

    Highlights

    • DomainMOD domain and internet asset manager fully installed with PHP 8.3, Apache, and MariaDB. Track every domain with its registrar, expiry, renewal fee, owner and stakeholder, plus SSL certificates, hosting accounts, IP addresses and DNS providers. Pull live data from registrar APIs including Cloudflare, Porkbun, NameBright and Internet.bs, get expiration email alerts, and report renewal costs across multiple currencies.
    • Hardened well beyond a stock install: no administrator password exists anywhere in the image, so there is no default credential to find or change. Each instance generates its own database and administrator passwords on first boot into a root only file and prompts you to set your own at first sign in. The install wizard is deleted and blocked, the config and library directories are denied from the web, the scheduler runs as a system timer not a public endpoint, and the database is loopback only.
    • 24/7 expert technical support from cloudimg with a one hour average response time for critical issues. Our engineers provide DomainMOD specific assistance including deployment guidance, registrar API and domain queue configuration, expiration alert and email setup, currency and conversion rate options, version upgrades, and MariaDB database administration.

    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Additional details

    Usage instructions

Connect via SSH on port 22 as the default login user for your operating system variant (the user guide lists it per variant; on Ubuntu it is 'ubuntu'). DomainMOD is served on port 80. Browse to http://<instance-public-ip>/ and sign in as the 'admin' user. Retrieve the generated administrator password with: sudo cat /root/domainmod-credentials.txt. DomainMOD then prompts you to choose your own password. Add your registrars and domains from the DomainMOD menu, and track SSL certificates and hosting accounts alongside them. To enable HTTPS, follow the Let's Encrypt section of the user guide.
