Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the running instance, with software charges added on top of standard AWS infrastructure fees. Pricing is organized entirely by EC2 instance type. Each dimension maps to one instance size, so the rate scales with the compute, memory, and storage that instance provides. Smaller shared-core instances carry lower hourly rates, while larger compute-, memory-, storage-, and accelerator-optimized instances and bare-metal options cost more per hour. You select the single instance type that fits your workload. All options include the same Oracle Linux 9.0 image and 24/7 support with a 24-hour response commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each rate covers the Oracle Linux 9.0 image running on one EC2 instance of the type you pick. The image includes preinstalled AWS CLI, CloudWatch Agent, Systems Manager Agent, Cloud Init, an OS update script, and 24/7 support with a 24-hour response commitment.
The hourly software charge meters running time only. A stopped instance does not accrue the software rate. You may still pay standard AWS storage fees for attached volumes while the instance is stopped, but that is separate from the software charge.
Two charges apply at the same time. The per-hour software rate for your chosen instance type adds on top of the standard AWS infrastructure fee for that instance. Both appear together and scale with the hours the instance runs.
