AWS Backup and Disaster Recovery

Tgix’s Backup and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions are a one-stop shop for businesses that maintain critical data and applications in the AWS cloud. Our strategy allows for seamless integration into existing customer environments and ensures that users have easy control over the operations such as resource selection, backup frequency, and retention policies. The solutions are designed to scale effortlessly with your environment’s growth.

Our strategy supports a variety of resources including EC2, RDS and DynamoDB, and leverages key AWS services including snapshots, RDS read replicas and Elastic DR. This flexibility allows us to meet specific Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) requirements. Unlike other Marketplace solutions or generic SaaS providers, our solutions capture all pertinent metadata about your environment and configurations, including EC2 instances, RDS instances, Load Balancers, VPCs/Subnets, Security Groups, and Route Tables. This comprehensive approach ensures that all necessary infrastructure and resources can be easily recreated during a full restore operation.

Our warm-standby strategy for DR minimizes costs while providing up-to-the-minute data replication in the DR region, maintaining RPO times close to zero (i.e. zero data loss) where required. Detailed failover and failback processes are captured in the Operations Runbooks.

Tgix’s Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions are robust and scalable, catering to AWS environments of all sizes. Setup is quick, often completed in minutes, and clients can easily manage operations thereafter. Routine operational status reports are automatically emailed. To meet regulatory compliance requirements, Tgix also offers optional Managed Backup and DR Services, which include daily backup monitoring and quarterly or bi-annual DR testing.
