What do you like best about the product?

We’ve had an outstanding experience using Avarni for emissions management and compliance reporting. The platform has genuinely streamlined how we manage environmental data, calculate emissions, and meet compliance obligations across our operations.

A key strength of Avarni is how easy it was to implement. Onboarding was smooth and well supported, and it required far fewer internal resources than we expected. Their team showed a strong understanding of relevant compliance frameworks and worked closely with us to configure the platform around our operational requirements, with minimal disruption and good pricing and overall performance.

From a compliance and assurance perspective, the software offers excellent transparency and traceability, which gives us confidence in our emissions calculations and reporting. The automation reduces manual handling and the risk of errors, while the dashboards and reporting tools make it straightforward to track performance and spot opportunities for improvement.

The user interface is intuitive and accessible, even for teams without deep technical expertise, which has helped drive engagement across the business. What do you dislike about the product?

While Avarni has many strengths as an emissions management platform, I’ve also experienced some frustrations and limitations in its current capability set, particularly when it comes to meeting all reporting and compliance requirements and supporting decarbonisation road mapping out of the box.

One of the main challenges is that certain regulatory and operational reporting requirements still require manual intervention or supplementary processes outside the platform. For organisations with complex compliance obligations, this can create inefficiencies and reduce confidence that every requirement is fully captured within a single system. In some specific use cases, gaps in customisation and flexibility have also made implementation more difficult than initially expected.

That said, one of the most positive aspects of working with Avarni has been their responsiveness and willingness to adapt. The team has shown a genuine commitment to listening to customer feedback, adjusting course where needed, and actively developing solutions to address the shortcomings that have been identified. Their development approach feels highly collaborative, and there is clear evidence they are investing heavily in improving functionality, expanding reporting capabilities, and refining the overall user experience.

Although the platform is still evolving in some areas, Avarni’s proactive engagement and continuous-improvement mindset gives me confidence that many of the current limitations will be addressed over time. They have demonstrated a strong willingness to partner with customers rather than simply provide off-the-shelf software, which is a valuable quality in a rapidly changing compliance and sustainability landscape.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Avarni has helped to deliver significant value to our business by helping address one of the biggest challenges in emissions and sustainability reporting: fragmented data and manual processes.

Before implementing Avarni, much of our reporting depended on spreadsheets, manual data entry, and extracting information from multiple systems. This was time-consuming and inefficient, and it introduced unnecessary risk around data accuracy and consistency. Avarni has helped us move away from that manual approach through automation and system integration, which has been a major improvement for both productivity and confidence in compliance.

One of the key benefits has been the platform’s ability to integrate with SAP and other internal business systems. Automated data flows have reduced duplication of effort, improved traceability, and ensured that operational data can be captured and used far more effectively for emissions reporting and analysis. With a more connected system environment, our reporting workflows are significantly more streamlined, and the administrative burden on our teams has been reduced.

The AI capabilities within the platform also show strong potential and are helping accelerate the shift toward smarter, more efficient environmental reporting. Being able to automate data handling, identify anomalies, improve data quality, and support faster analysis provides a clear advantage over traditional spreadsheet-based reporting methods.

What do you like best about the product?

Avarni is user friendly. It makes reporting a simple process. Plus, the support we receive from the Avarni team is excellent! You feel like real partners in the journey.

What do you dislike about the product?

There is nothing that I dislike about Avarni. The whole experience has been a positive one.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Avarni make understanding and complying with AASB S2 easy for us. We do not have much experience within the team reporting or talking about emissions and Avarni has become a true partner that helps us understand what is required and how we can get there.
