ScalarDB Analytics is the analytical component of ScalarDB. Similar to ScalarDB, it unifies diverse data sources-ranging from RDBMSs like PostgreSQL and MySQL to NoSQL databases like Cassandra and DynamoDB-into a single logical database. This enables you to perform analytical queries across multiple databases seamlessly.
Highlights
Universal data catalog. The universal data catalog is a flexible metadata management system that handles multiple catalog spaces. Each catalog space provides an independent logical grouping of data sources and views, enabling organized management of diverse data environments.
Query engine. The query engine executes queries against the universal data catalog. ScalarDB Analytics provides appropriate data connectors to interface with the underlying data sources.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay for ScalarDB Analytics Server based on usage, measured in units. One unit equals a pod with 2 vCPU and 4 GB of memory. If a pod uses more resources, the system rounds up. It divides the vCPU count by 2 or the memory by 4 GB, then charges by whichever result is larger. There is a single usage dimension, so your cost scales with how many units you consume. You add or remove capacity as your workload changes.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one unit for billing, and how is a larger pod measured?
One unit equals a pod with 2 vCPU and 4 GB of memory. If a pod exceeds this, the system divides its vCPU count by 2 or its memory by 4 GB, rounds each up, and charges by whichever number is larger. A vCPU is a virtual CPU as configured on your platform.
Does my cost change automatically as workload grows or shrinks?
Yes. You pay per unit consumed, so cost tracks how many units run. Add units when demand rises and remove them when it falls. Because the software does not persist data, performance scales with the number of units you provision.
Is this billed on usage or do I commit upfront?
This is usage-based. You are charged for the units you consume, with no upfront commitment. There is one usage dimension, so charges accrue as your pods run and stop when you scale units down. This fits workloads that change over time.

Containers are lightweight, portable execution environments that wrap server application software in a filesystem that includes everything it needs to run. Container applications run on supported container runtimes and orchestration services, such as Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) or Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS). Both eliminate the need for you to install and operate your own container orchestration software by managing and scheduling containers on a scalable cluster of virtual machines.
AWS Support is a one-on-one, fast-response support channel that is staffed 24x7x365 with experienced and technical support engineers. The service helps customers of all sizes and technical abilities to successfully utilize the products and features provided by Amazon Web Services.
