Cisco Multicloud Defense provides unified visibility and protection into and across the major cloud platforms from a single software-as-a-service (SaaS) control plane. Quickly protect your applications using a Multicloud Defense Gateway, delivered as a platform-as-a-service, where you can apply NGFW, IDS/IPS, egress filtering, WAF, FQDN, URL filtering, data loss prevention (DLP), and antivirus capabilities across your entire multicloud, multi-region, and multi-zone infrastructure as a single dynamic policy. If you are an existing Cisco Secure Firewall customer, you can leverage Multicloud Defense automation and orchestration to extend Secure Firewall to the public cloud natively with automatic deployment, scaling, networking, healing, and upgrading of instances.
Overview
Cisco Multicloud Defense is the industry first solution that integrates comprehensive network security with multi-cloud networking. This software as a service (SaaS) multicloud network security solution provides highly scalable, agile, and robust security for hybrid and multicloud environments. It uses a common principle in public clouds and software-defined networking (SDN) that decouples the control and data plane, translating to two solution components: the Multicloud Defense Controller for management and the Multicloud Defense Gateway(s) for enforcement.
Customers can quickly onboard their cloud accounts to gain deep visibility into their environments and protect them with a distributed and/or centralized security architecture. This solution enables organizations to build unified security policies for hybrid and multicloud infrastructure where the policy (per app, as opposed to per enforcement point) is created once and applied to the various enforcement points (Multicloud Defense Gateways) running in different regions and cloud infrastructures. These controls are enforced on gateways that live inside the customers cloud account.
