Pricing
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.

This listing splits into two separate contract dimensions. The Box - Intelligent Content Cloud dimension gives you access to products on the platform for content management. The Box AI Units dimension is a usage-based add-on, sold in blocks of 10,000 units. AI units are consumed as your organization runs AI tasks like summarizing, extracting, and generating content. You buy AI capacity separately from platform access, so the two scale independently. You can monitor AI unit consumption by user and agent through the Admin Console to forecast how many unit blocks you need.

The two dimensions bill independently. The Intelligent Content Cloud dimension covers access to platform products for content management. The Box AI Units dimension covers AI task consumption in 10,000-unit blocks. Platform access does not include AI units, so both appear separately. AI cost scales with how often your teams run AI tasks.
AI tasks work on content stored in your Box environment. AI outputs draw from files users already have access to, respecting existing permissions. This means the Box AI Units dimension complements platform access rather than replacing it. Your content stays within your environment and is not used to train external models.
