You buy the DQ Platform under a contract with two dimensions. The Basic Tier DQ Platform by DQC covers the core SaaS subscription, billed in units. The Upgrade unit is an add-on you purchase alongside the base subscription to expand your entitlement. You scale by adding upgrade units to the Basic Tier rather than moving between separate plans. Both dimensions are priced per unit, so your total cost grows with the number of units you commit to during the contract term.

A unit is your subscription entitlement to the DQ Platform delivered as software-as-a-service. The platform connects to your data sources and applies AI-generated data quality rules. It reads your data in place without making copies, so units cover platform access rather than a device or server count.
You start with Basic Tier DQ Platform by DQC units for the core SaaS subscription. Each Upgrade unit adds to that entitlement. Both are billed per unit and add together on the same contract. Your total reflects the base units plus any upgrade units you commit to.
You add Upgrade units alongside the Basic Tier rather than switching plans. Each added Upgrade unit increases your entitlement and your total per-unit cost. Charges apply to the units you commit to for the contract term, so scaling means committing to additional units.
