Overview
Aktus AI Platform is a enterprise-grade multimodal Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system designed to transform how organizations process, understand, and extract value from their document repositories. Leveraging advanced AI technologies, our platform seamlessly processes text, images, charts, and diagrams through a unified intelligence layer, enabling organizations to unlock the full potential of their document-based knowledge. Operating within a secure, scalable Amazon Web Services (AWS).
At the core of our solution is an advanced multimodal RAG architecture comprised of five specialized micro-services:
- Research Service - Handles natural language queries and multimodal response generation.
- Embedding Service - Creates and manages unified semantic representations across text and visual elements.
- Data Ingestion Service - Processes document images, diagrams, and visual content extraction.
- Database Manager Service - Maintains document metadata and cross-modal retrieval configurations.
- Inference Service - Provides multimodal ML capabilities for integrated analysis across content types.
Aktus AI provides the intelligent document processing solution that delivers tangible business value through advanced multimodal understanding. This sophisticated architecture processes documents through state-of-the-art OCR, vector embedding, and machine learning inference to create a powerful knowledge base that understands both textual and visual content.

Usage instructions
Prerequisites
- An unused CIDR block for your new VPC (e.g. 220.10.0.0/16)
- GPU instance quota (any size in the G or P families)
- Hugging Face API token and OpenAI API key (provided as template parameters)
Note: You don't need to create the EKS cluster or install Helm manually - the CloudFormation template will provision the VPC, bootstrap EKS (with Load Balancer Controller, EFS CSI driver, OIDC provider, node pools, etc.) and deploy the AWS Marketplace chart for you.
1. Deploy Aktus AI Platform
You can install the application in two ways:
- One-click deployment via the CloudFormation console:
Follow Quick create stack to launch the template directly. - Manual download of the .yml from the aktus-platform-aws-marketplace repo and run it as shown in the installation video.
When prompted, supply your VPC CIDR block and API keys.
Wait until the stack status is CREATE_COMPLETE (~ 15-20 min).
2. Verify & Access Nexus Dashboard
To locate the Knowledge Assistant endpoint:
- In the CloudFormation console, open your stack
- Go to Resources: select the EKSConnectorLambda Physical ID
- Click Monitor: open View CloudWatch logs
- Click View CloudWatch logs: open the latest log stream
- Look for the dashboard URL in the Lambda logs
