You pay by the hour for this hardened AlmaLinux 10 image, billed per running instance. The many options are not tiers or plans. Each one maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, such as general purpose, memory-optimized, compute-optimized, storage-optimized, and accelerated computing families. Your hourly rate depends on the instance type you launch, since larger sizes carry higher rates. You choose the instance that fits your workload, and cost scales with the size and capability of that instance. You run only what you need, when you need it.

Each instance type maps to an AWS EC2 machine size with set CPU, memory, and storage. You get the hardened AlmaLinux 10 image running on that hardware. The hourly software charge meters running time only. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue software charges. You resume billing when you start the instance again. Underlying AWS storage or other AWS resource fees may still apply while stopped, but those are separate from this software charge.

Connecting to the Virtual Machine
To connect to your instance, use SSH over port 22. The default username for this image is ec2-user.
