AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for Hardened Rocky Linux 9, with no upfront commitment. Pricing is usage-based, so you are billed only for the hours each instance runs. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, such as t3.small, m6i.large, or r7a.48xlarge. The hourly rate scales with the size and capabilities of the instance you choose. Larger instances with more compute, memory, or storage cost more per hour than smaller ones. You select the instance type that fits your workload, and billing follows that choice.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hour of billing cover for a given instance type?
One hour maps to one running EC2 instance of your chosen type. The clock counts wall-clock time the instance is active. Each instance you launch bills independently. Running ten instances of the same type accrues ten hours of software charges for each real hour they run.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges meter running time only. A stopped instance stops accruing hourly software fees. You may still pay underlying AWS storage costs for attached volumes while the instance sits idle, but the Hardened Rocky Linux 9 hourly charge applies only while the instance runs.
What do I get with the hardened image compared to a standard Rocky Linux 9 image?
The image is configured to STIG security recommendations to reduce system vulnerabilities. It aims to protect against denial of service, unauthorized data access, and other threats. These configurations follow cybersecurity best practices recognized by standards such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST.
