Polygon boundaries for every Canadian postal code: 881,030 six-character postal codes across all 1,643 FSAs, validated against Statistics Canada 2021 with zero gaps or overlaps.
Delivered in FlatGeobuf, GeoParquet, ESRI Shapefile, GeoJSON and CSV+WKT, with a full data dictionary, load examples and checksums — ready for GIS, analytics, and database workflows.
Complete polygon coverage for every Canadian postal code. This dataset provides boundary polygons for all 881,030 six-character Canadian postal codes across every one of the 1,643 Forward Sortation Areas (FSAs) defined by Statistics Canada 2021. Polygons are derived from confidence-weighted geocoded address evidence and constrained to official FSA boundaries, producing a seamless national tessellation: within every FSA, cells partition the area exactly, with zero gaps and zero overlaps. A postal code's polygon can be as small as a single building or city block in a downtown core, or span an entire rural town.
Built for real workloads, not just maps. Each polygon carries the evidence behind it — the number of address points inside the FSA, how many were used, how many were rejected as outliers, and a confidence-weighted containment mass — so you can filter by data quality instead of taking every cell on faith. Where an FSA contains territory with no supporting address evidence (islands, coastline, remote areas), those pieces are shipped as explicitly labelled UNASSIGNED_NO_POINT_COMPONENT features rather than silently dropped, so point-in-polygon lookups always resolve to an FSA and coverage is complete by construction.
Five formats, one dataset. Every format contains the same 1,057,110 features (881,030 postal-code cells + 176,080 unassigned components) with identical attributes:
FlatGeobuf (national + per-FSA) — cloud-native, streaming, spatially indexed. Recommended for GIS and geospatial pipelines.

Highlights
Complete national coverage: polygon boundaries for all 881,030 Canadian postal codes across every one of the 1,643 Statistics Canada 2021 FSAs. Cells partition each FSA exactly — zero gaps, zero overlaps, 100% valid geometry — so point-in-polygon lookups always resolve.
Evidence you can audit: every polygon is derived from confidence-weighted geocoded address points and ships with the counts behind it (points used, outliers rejected, containment mass). Filter by quality, spot weakly-supported cells, and trust the polygons you keep.
Five formats, identical content: FlatGeobuf, GeoParquet, ESRI Shapefile, GeoJSON, and CSV+WKT. Includes a full data dictionary, load examples for GDAL / GeoPandas / DuckDB / PostGIS / MySQL, per-FSA index, validation report, and SHA-256 checksums for every archive.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing uses a single contract-based pricing option: Product Access, billed in units. You buy access to the Canada postal code boundary dataset under one flat structure, not tiered plans or usage-based metering. The dataset includes the national postal code polygon file, delivered as a tessellation with no gaps or overlaps between adjacent areas. Pricing does not scale by lookup volume or server size. You gain download access to the polygon data with an unrestricted use license. For customized versions or added fields, you contact the vendor directly.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one Product Access unit grant, and what files come with the dataset?
One unit grants download access to the Canada postal code dataset. This includes the postal code file, the postal code and street address file, and the postal code area polygons file. The polygons cover over 850,000 verified postal codes, delivered as a tessellation with no gaps or overlaps.
Does my cost change as the postal code count grows or with monthly data updates?
The Product Access unit is a flat contract price. It does not scale with the number of postal codes or with data volume. Regular monthly updates of the database are offered. For customized versions with added city, street, or census fields, you contact the vendor directly.
Is this a one-time data purchase or a usage-metered API subscription?
This is a contract-based data purchase, not usage-metered API access. You buy download access to the polygon dataset under one flat structure with an unrestricted use license. Charges do not accrue per lookup or per request. Download is immediate upon purchase.
