Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance size you run. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS instance type, so pricing scales with the compute you choose. Options span burstable general-purpose types (the t3 and t3a families) and compute-optimized types (the c5, c5a, c5d, c5ad, and c5n families). Sizes range from nano and micro up through 24xlarge and bare-metal instances. The software fee is added on top of your AWS infrastructure cost. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates. You are charged only for the hours each instance runs, with no upfront commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You get a Rocky Linux 9 system with the XFCE graphical desktop and a preconfigured user account. The software is repackaged open source, and the hourly charge covers support by Elm Computing. It runs on the AWS EC2 instance type you select.
The software fee meters running instance-hours only. When you stop the instance, the hourly software charge stops. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for the attached volume, but that is an AWS infrastructure cost, not the software support fee.
The t3 and t3a families are burstable general-purpose types suited to variable or lighter desktop use. The c5, c5a, c5d, c5ad, and c5n families are compute-optimized for steady, heavier processing. Your hourly rate follows the instance type and size you pick.

Usage instructions
To connect to the Linux GUI Desktop on your EC2 instance using an RDP client, please use the public IP address of the instance as the PC name. The default username is elm, and the password is the EC2 instance ID, which follows the format i-0c7xxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Make sure to replace i-0c7xxxxxxxxxxxxxx with your actual instance ID, which you can find in the AWS Management Console under the Instances section. Proceed to connect; you may receive a security warning about the certificate, but you can choose to continue.

This setup allows you to remotely access your instance using the Remote Desktop Protocol with the provided credentials.
