    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Usage instructions

To configure NITRC-CE, use a web browser to access the admin interface at http://<instance ip address>/ - replace the <instance ip address> with the actual ip address of the running EC2 instance. Be sure to use HTTP at this stage; this will be forwarded immediately to HTTPS.

Enter the EC2 instance ID to verify your access to the machine. Then configure the instance as desired and click "Submit." At this point the machine is ready to use.

To connect, click "Open Desktop" or ssh to the instance using the login key pair you configured during launch.

Further information can be found in the NITRC-CE User Guide at https://www.nitrc.org/plugins/mwiki/index.php/nitrc:User_Guide_-_NITRC_Computational_Environment_Main .
