You pay by the hour for the software running on an Amazon EC2 instance you pick. Pricing scales with the instance you choose, not with a plan or feature tier. Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance type, so your hourly rate follows the size and capability of that hardware. Options range from small general-purpose and CPU instances to large memory, compute, storage, and GPU instances. GPU instances suit faster image generation, while CPU instances work as a lower-cost alternative. Choose the instance that fits your workload and cost target.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate cover, and does it include the underlying EC2 compute cost?
The hourly rate covers the Comfy UI software running on one EC2 instance you select. Each dimension maps to one instance type. AWS bills the underlying compute separately at its own EC2 rate. So your total combines the software charge plus the standard EC2 charge for that instance.
Am I charged the hourly software fee when my instance is stopped?
The software fee meters running time. A stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. You may still pay AWS for attached storage while the instance is stopped. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
Should I pick a GPU or CPU instance, and how does that affect performance and cost?
GPU instances generate images about ten times faster than CPU instances. CPU instances work as a lower-cost alternative but add 10-15 minutes per job. The recommended GPU option is g4dn.xlarge; the CPU minimum is t2.xlarge. Your hourly rate follows the instance type you choose.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
