Overview
CloudiQS Bedrock Cost and Usage Reports
Free weekly Amazon Bedrock spend reports, delivered to your inbox, that show exactly who is spending and how close you are to your service limits. Built for FinOps teams, engineering leaders, and cloud finance professionals who need to make sense of generative AI cost that AWS only bills at the account level.
The Challenge
As organisations scale Amazon Bedrock, cost becomes hard to attribute. AWS bills Bedrock at the account level, so multiple teams, models, and agents get merged into one figure. Worse, agent workloads create a fresh session identity per conversation, so a single agent can appear as dozens of separate users, and long-lived IAM credentials hide inside the same total. Without dedicated tooling, no one can say which team, agent, or user actually drove the spend.
How It Works
CloudiQS reads your AWS Cost and Usage Report 2.0, billing-grade data, and produces a weekly report broken down by account, by caller, and by model. Session identities are collapsed to their base agent, callers are classified by type, and each model is annotated with live quota headroom. The report is deterministic. Every figure is computed directly from your billing data, with no generated text and no risk of invented numbers.
Key Capabilities
- Caller classification. Every principal is identified by type: IAM user, AWS Identity Center (SSO) user, Bedrock AgentCore agent, EC2 role, or Lambda role, so you see what kind of caller drove the spend, not just an opaque ARN.
- Agent session collapse. Bedrock AgentCore creates one identity per conversation. CloudiQS groups these back to the underlying agent, so a busy agent reads as one line with a session count, not thirty phantom users.
- Credential hygiene flag. Long-lived IAM users are surfaced automatically, with a note recommending a move to short-lived credentials.
- Quota headroom. Each model is annotated with its live tokens-per-minute and requests-per-minute usage against your Bedrock service quotas, plus any throttling events, so you see how close you are to a limit before it bites.
- CUR 2.0 based. Billing-grade figures reconciled against the AWS bill, up to 48 hours behind, with no changes required to your Bedrock workloads.
Who This Is For
- FinOps teams extending cloud financial management to generative AI.
- Engineering leaders who need to understand and justify AI spend.
- Cloud finance professionals responsible for cost allocation, showback, and chargeback.
- Platform teams running shared Bedrock infrastructure across business units.
Deployment
Subscribe through AWS Marketplace and deploy the CloudFormation stack into your own AWS account. Everything runs inside your account. Your data never leaves your AWS environment. The first report arrives once your Cost and Usage Report has populated, then weekly thereafter.
CloudiQS is an AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner. Bedrock Pulse is provided free as part of the CloudiQS Managed FinOps practice.
Highlights
- Caller-level attribution built for agents. Every principal is classified by type: IAM user, SSO user, Bedrock AgentCore agent, EC2 role, or Lambda role. AgentCore session identities are collapsed back to the underlying agent, so a busy agent reads as one line with a session count rather than dozens of phantom users. Long-lived IAM users are flagged automatically for credential rotation.
- Quota headroom, not just spend. Each model in the report is annotated with live tokens-per-minute and requests-per-minute usage against your Bedrock service quotas, plus any throttling events in the period. You see how close you are to a service limit before it causes a production incident, turning a backward-looking cost report into a forward-looking capacity signal.
- Free, deterministic, and runs in your account. Built on AWS Cost and Usage Report 2.0 for billing-grade accuracy reconciled against your AWS bill. Every figure is computed directly from your data with no generated text and no invented numbers. Deploys via CloudFormation into your own account, your data never leaves your AWS environment, and the weekly report lands in your inbox with no ongoing effort.
