You pay by the hour for each Arm-based (arm64) instance you run, with the software fee bundled into the hourly rate alongside CIQ support. Pricing scales with the instance type you choose across many AWS Graviton families, including general-purpose (m, t, a1), compute-optimized (c), memory-optimized (r, x), storage-focused (i, im, is), and GPU (g5g) options. Larger sizes within each family carry higher hourly rates. There are no tiers or commitments to pick; you select an instance size and are billed only for the hours it runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One unit is one instance-hour of a running arm64 (AWS Graviton) instance. The rate is set by the instance type you launch, from small sizes like t4g.nano up to bare-metal sizes like c8g.metal-48xl. You are billed for each hour that instance runs.
The hourly software and support fee meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue this charge. You may still pay underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the CIQ software rate applies while the instance runs.
The hourly rate bundles CIQ Support with the operating system. This includes Long-Term Support, FIPS 140-3 validated packages, direct bug fixes, committed CVE response timelines, and indemnification. Support covers triage, troubleshooting, and resolution for your Rocky Linux environments.

Usage instructions
Connect to the instance over SSH using the instance public IP, with username "rocky" and the private key generated when you launched the instance. Example command: $ ssh -i ./ssh-private-key.pem rocky@PublicIPAddress When you are logged in as "rocky", you can use the sudo command to run administrative tasks. Note that the specific command you use to connect to the instance may vary depending on the operating system and ssh client you are using on your end. By default, the instance is secured by AWS network security configuration; you may optionally install your choice of a local firewall such as firewalld after launch.
