Overview
OutageWatch - Unified Network Health Monitoring
The Challenge
Most NOCs monitor network health through a patchwork of domain-specific tools, forcing analysts to manually piece together an overall picture during incidents, shift handovers, and executive reviews. This fragmented approach increases mean-time-to-detect (MTTD), slows decision-making, and creates inconsistent reporting across teams.
What OutageWatch Delivers
OutageWatch is a professional services engagement that delivers a unified, continuously updated network health monitoring platform - consolidating alarm and KPI signals from RAN, core, transport, and cloud domains into a single operational view. Operations teams get one place to see what is healthy, what is degraded, and what needs immediate attention.
With drill-down capability from network-wide health scores down to individual sites and elements, OutageWatch supports everything from daily shift handovers to executive health reporting from a single, consistent data source.
Key Capabilities
- Unified real-time health scoring across all network domains
- Drill-down from network-wide view to site and element level
- Consolidated alarm and KPI health dashboards
- Historical health trend tracking and comparison
- Shift-handover and executive health summary views
- Cross-domain visibility during major incidents
Integration
OutageWatch ingests health signals from existing network management systems including platforms such as Nokia NetAct, Ericsson ENM, and Huawei iManager, as well as cloud monitoring services like AWS CloudWatch. During the discovery phase, the engagement team maps your current monitoring stack and configures the appropriate data connectors - whether SNMP, streaming telemetry, or API-based - to ensure comprehensive coverage across all domains.
Security and Data Handling
OutageWatch is designed to handle sensitive network operational data with appropriate controls. Data ingested from network management systems is encrypted in transit and at rest. The platform enforces role-based access controls (RBAC) so that NOC analysts, shift leads, and executives see only the views and data relevant to their responsibilities. Audit logging tracks all configuration changes and user access. Data residency requirements are addressed during the discovery phase to ensure alignment with your organization's policies.
Engagement Process
The OutageWatch engagement follows a structured delivery model:
- Discovery Workshop - Assessment of your current monitoring landscape, identification of data sources across all network domains, and definition of health scoring requirements.
- Integration and Configuration - Connection to your existing alarm and KPI sources, configuration of health scoring models, and setup of domain-specific and network-wide dashboards.
- Deployment and Validation - Platform deployment, validation of health scores against known network states, and tuning of thresholds.
- Training and Handoff - Hands-on training for NOC analysts and leadership, documentation of configured dashboards and scoring logic, and formal handover.
Key Use Cases
- Daily NOC Shift Handovers: Incoming shift leads review overnight health score trends, drill into any domain showing degradation, and complete handover with a consistent shared view rather than checking multiple tools.
- Executive Health Reporting: Leadership receives a single-source-of-truth health summary covering all domains, with historical trend data for comparison.
- Major Incident Response: During cross-domain incidents, responders see correlated health impacts across RAN, core, transport, and cloud without switching between tools - reducing MTTD through unified visibility.
- Unified Real-Time Dashboards: Operations teams maintain continuous situational awareness across the entire network from a single screen.
Operational Outcomes
- Eliminates tool-switching during incident response and reviews
- Improves situational awareness across the entire network
- Speeds up shift handovers with a consistent shared view
- Reduces mean-time-to-detect through unified cross-domain visibility
- Provides a single source of truth for health reporting at all levels
Prerequisites
To ensure a successful engagement, customers should be prepared to provide:
- Access to existing network management and alarm systems across relevant domains
- Defined KPI and alarm data feeds (SNMP, streaming telemetry, or API-based)
- A designated technical point of contact for integration activities
- Network topology information for site and element mapping
Getting Started
Contact the OutageWatch team through AWS Marketplace to schedule a discovery call. The initial conversation covers your current monitoring landscape, network scale, and operational priorities to scope an engagement tailored to your environment.
Highlights
- Consolidates health signals from RAN, core, transport, and cloud domains into a single real-time operational view - integrating with platforms such as Nokia NetAct, Ericsson ENM, Huawei iManager, and AWS CloudWatch. Operations teams gain continuous situational awareness from one consistent data source with drill-down from network-wide health scores to individual sites and elements, eliminating the need to switch between multiple monitoring tools during incidents and shift handovers.
- Reduces mean-time-to-detect (MTTD) by providing unified cross-domain visibility that surfaces degradation patterns invisible to siloed tools. Shift handovers are streamlined through a consistent shared health view, eliminating the manual effort of piecing together status from multiple systems and enabling faster, more confident operational decisions across NOC teams of any scale.
- Delivered as a structured professional services engagement - from discovery workshop through integration, deployment, and training. The engagement maps your existing monitoring landscape, configures health scoring models tailored to your network domains, and hands off a fully operational platform with role-based access controls, encrypted data handling, and trained staff ready to use it from day one.
