OwlDB: The Smartest Way to Run Tibero in the Cloud
OwlDB is an enterprise platform designed to simplify Tibero database deployment and operation in the cloud, providing an intuitive UI for easy management.
Enhanced for Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability
OwlDB unifies TAC and DR configurations, delivering unparalleled High Availability and Disaster Recovery for superior business continuity.
Multi-AZ for DR: Supports Multi-AZ configuration to secure geographical redundancy for an effective DR setup.
Guaranteed Data Consistency via ADR: Utilizing the Active Data Replicator (ADR), real-time synchronization based on transaction logs ensures data consistency.
HA via TAC: The core technology, Tibero Active Cluster (TAC), uses a shared-disk architecture, ensuring continuous service by automatically failing over to healthy nodes upon failure.
Key Features
Effortless Management: Simplifies essential DB operations (migration, backup/recovery, monitoring).
Optimized Performance: Provides workload-specific templates for optimal stability and performance.
Pay as You go: Select your topology - Single, TAC, or DR configurations. Pricing adjusts based on setup, including service, license, and cloud costs. Pay only for what you use. OwlDB for Tibero Pricing

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
OwlDB uses a single usage-based pricing dimension billed by the hour. You pay per administrator, per host-hour, meaning charges accrue for each hour the managed database platform runs under an administrator. There are no tiers or fixed commitments. Costs scale directly with how long you operate the platform, so your bill rises or falls with actual usage. This structure supports flexible operation, letting you deploy, scale, and shut down resources as your needs change. You can adjust configurations on demand, and pay only for the hours you run.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one billable unit under the per-administrator, per-host-hour charge?
You are billed by host-hour for each administrator managing the platform. The charge accrues for every hour a host runs under an administrator. Counting is tied to running time, so an hour of active operation equals one billable host-hour. Stopped or unused hours do not add administrator charges.
What happens to my charges when I scale the database up, down, in, or out?
The platform supports Scale Up/Down, Scale In/Out, and adding disaster recovery configurations. Because billing meters running host-hours per administrator, your cost follows how long resources run after each change. Scaling down or shutting resources off reduces accrued host-hours. You adjust configurations on demand and pay for the hours you actually run.
Am I charged for a standby disaster recovery host that is powered off?
Administrator charges accrue per running host-hour. A fully powered-off standby host does not add software charges, since billing meters active running time. Powered-off hosts may still incur underlying AWS resource fees, but the OwlDB software charge applies only while the host runs under an administrator.

OwlDB for Tibero 7 an integrated DB Managment service provisioning Tibero 7 Single, TAC (High Availability) and a Disaster Reovery solution.
The deployment architecture is optimized based on the selected DB configuration and infrastructure specifications.
Disaster Recovery (DR) Support : Real-time synchronization based on transaction logs ensures data consistency and supports complete standby environment setup for continuity.
Leveraging Multi-AZ configurations, it secures geographical redundancy for stable DR environment deployment.
OwlDB is provisioned in the new VPC's public subnet, and the Tibero DB is securely installed in a private subnet within the same VPC.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."

How to access
When the OwlDB installation is complete, the access address and temporary password are sent to the email specified in the UserEmail parameter of the installation configuration
You can also access the application via a browser at https://[Unique Identifier (UUID)].owl-db.com/owldb/#/.
This UUID is automatically generated for each deployment and provides a unique, customer-specific access domain.
Connect to the OS
To connect to the operating system, use SSH and the username rocky.
Port 22 is not open by default, so you must add an inbound rule for it in the OwlDB security groups before connecting.
Internet connection
This product requires an internet connection to deploy properly.
The following packages are downloaded on deployment: unzip, awscli, docker, java.
Roles
The roles created in this product are as follows:
OwlDBIAMRole: This IAM Role is assigned to the Owl instance.
Grants permissions to manage CloudFormation stack resources and handle the full lifecycle of database infrastructures from provisioning to deletion.
