     Info
The Rafay Kubernetes Operations Platform provides industry leading Amazon EKS integration enabling platform teams to provide Kubernetes automation and self-service workflows with standardization and controls that enable rapid innovation without risk. By enhancing deployment, management, automation, compliance, and security, Rafay simplifies fleet management and operations making it the ideal solution for enterprises operating Amazon EKS clusters, across regions and accounts, from a single pane of glass. Rafay helps enterprises maximize their Kubernetes investment and gain a competitive advantage.

    Overview

The Rafay Kubernetes Operations Platform augments the enterprise platform team through the broad set of services needed to accelerate application modernization initiatives. Rafay delivers the following services to Platform and SRE teams - across both Kubernetes and modern applications:

*Multi-Cluster Management Service: Enables the lifecycle management and blueprinting support for managed Kubernetes services, such as Amazon EKS and Azure AKS, as well as offerings such as Rancher and RedHat OpenShift.

*GitOps Service: Enables infrastructure orchestration and application deployment through multi-stage, git-triggered pipelines.

*Zero-Trust Access Service: Enables controlled, audited access for developers, SREs and automation systems to Kubernetes infrastructure, with just-in-time service account creation and user-level credentials management.

*Kubernetes Policy Management Service: Enables policy management for clusters via the Open Policy Agent (OPA) framework for Kubernetes security and governance.

*Backup & Restore Service: Enables disaster recovery and migration of the Kubernetes control plane and application data.

*Visibility & Monitoring Service: Enables development, operations and security/governance teams to visualize and monitor modern apps and underlying Kubernetes infrastructure through dedicated dashboards.

*Network Policy Management Service: Ensure application isolation and reduce the lateral attack surface through configuration of network policies across clusters - fleet-wide.

*Service Mesh Service: Ensure cluster-wide/namespace policy configurations, provide visibility to traffic flows, and automate cert lifecycle management for mTLS.

*Cost Management Service: provide cost visibility and chargeback controls to help optimize spend.

    Highlights

    • Standard Kubernetes Operating Model: Platform teams create and enforce a standard operating model for the entire organization to follow. The whole organization gains efficiencies by automating recurring tasks as well as creating guardrails that safeguard the business.
    • Unified Platform for Kubernetes Lifecycle: Operations centralizes visibility into every cluster they manage, making full lifecycle management easy no matter whether those clusters live in data centers or various cloud accounts.
    • Self-Service Kubernetes Infrastructure: Developers can safely spin up their own Kubernetes infrastructure as needed removing the back-and-forth tickets and waiting days for infrastructure to be provisioned - getting back to coding instead of worrying about the intricacies of their applications running on Kubernetes.

Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

Rafay Kubernetes Operations Platform  serves as my primary tool for automation work in large-scale, multi-cluster Kubernetes  environments and enables self-service for development projects while maintaining governance, security, and cost-efficiency.

In my project, I use Rafay for automation in multi-cluster environments by creating sophisticated, customizable plans for tasks such as upgrades, patching, and security upgrades across a fleet of clusters, especially for our telecom node where we manage subscribers' calls, data, and SMSes. This approach reduces manual effort and ensures consistency.

How has it helped my organization?

Rafay Kubernetes Operations Platform  has positively impacted my organization by offering granular visibility into Kubernetes  cost and resource utilization, leading to cost management and optimization, which increased our direct revenue by approximately 8 to 10 percent.

In terms of time savings, I calculate that one to two hours have been saved every day, and the total profit increase on a yearly scale is approximately 8 to 10 percent.

    What is most valuable?

Rafay Kubernetes Operations Platform's best features include the enforcement of robust security postures, such as fine-grained role-based access, integrated policy management via open policies and framework, centralized secrets management, and detailed audit trails of user activities. Additionally, it provides granular visibility into Kubernetes costs and resource utilization and enables chargeback or showback across teams.

The features of disaster recovery and granular visibility into costs have helped my organization by providing integrated backup and restore services for both Kubernetes control plane configuration and application data, ensuring business continuity and resilience, especially in worst-case scenarios such as full outages.

    What needs improvement?

Rafay Kubernetes Operations Platform can focus on tighter integration with existing tools to enhance cost visibility and streamline the developer self-service experience. Additionally, expanded support for a wider variety of underlying infrastructure is needed.

Regarding pricing, setup cost, and licensing, everything seems satisfactory in my experience.

    What about the implementation team?

My organization purchased Rafay Kubernetes Operations Platform through AWS Marketplace .

    What was our ROI?

The return on investment with Rafay Kubernetes Operations Platform is clear, as resource management became much easier and cost optimization contributes to my organization's direct revenue, which has increased by approximately 8 to 10 percent.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Regarding pricing, setup cost, and licensing, everything seems satisfactory in my experience.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Rafay Kubernetes Operations Platform, I evaluated other options, but it was my final choice due to the positive reviews I received from my colleagues and others on LinkedIn.
